Teen driver charged after vehicle collision involving Doug Ford on Hwy. 401

A teen driver faces charges of dangerous driving after a collision involving two cars on Highway 401, which included Premier Doug Ford and his staff. While neither Ford nor his staff were harmed, two passengers in the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, where they were later released.

The accident transpired at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the westbound lanes near Brock Road in Pickering, as the premier was returning from a morning event at the Darlington nuclear power station.

Ford, along with staff members and provincial police officers, was traveling in an SUV operated by the protective services section of the force. The 18-year-old individual facing criminal charges is a resident of Oshawa and is scheduled to appear in court there on February 20, as stated in a written news release from the OPP. His identity has not been disclosed.
